This is my first knitting pattern I ever created, it’s still one of my favorite cowls to pull out of the closet and wear.

The Leina, a reversible cowl using luxurious chunky baby Alpaca yarn uses classic ribbing and cabling techniques in a modern way to distinguish lines and play with texture and asymmetry. You will create an unique and wearable new addition to your wardrobe.

Skill level: beginner to intermediate

Skills: knit, purl, long tail cast on, ribbing, cabling

Finished measurements: approximately 14 inches tall by 8 inches wide

Recommended Materials: approximately 3 skeins of Plymouth 100% Baby Alpaca Grande 100g/110yrds, or any yarn that measures the same gauge. (Remember to do your gauge swatch)

Gauge is 3 knit stitches = 1 inch

Size 10.5US 24inch circular needles

Join in the round PM at beginning
Round 1: (12)K2P2, PM, K2P2 repeat till end of Rnd.

Rnd 2-9: K2P2 repeat till end of Rnd.

Rnd 10: C16F, (4)K2P2, C16B, K2P2 repeat till end of Rnd.

Rnd 11-16: K2P2 repeat till end of Rnd.

Rnd 17: (4)K2P2, C8F, C8B, K2P2 repeat till end of Rnd.

Rnd 18-20: K2P2 repeat till end of Rnd.

Rnd 21: (5)K2P2, C8F, K2P2 repeat till end of Rnd.

Rnd 22-28: K2P2 repeat till end of Rnd.

Rnd 29: C16F, C16F, C16B, K2P2 repeat till end of Rnd.

Rnd 30-35: K2P2 repeat till end of Rnd.

Rnd 36: (2)K2P2, C16B, C16F, K2P2 repeat till end of Rnd.

Rnd 37-41: K2P2 repeat till end of Rnd.
